West Brom Super Fans react as Sam Johnstone links reappear

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our West Brom News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was once again in the headlines this weekend while away with England.

Starting the 5-0 win over Andorra, the Baggies stopper even picked up an assist with a monster throw to set Jack Grealish on his way.

Despite that, it was his future on the agenda once again as contract talks appear to be dragging on at The Hawthorns.

The Sun have reported over the weekend that Southampton are ready to make their move and could launch their offer in January.

Not only the south-coast club are interested though, with West Ham and Spurs also circling as we enter a critical stage of his career.

West Brom need to move quickly in order to get this deal over the line, not only to secure his future but protect any future fee.

As things stand, Johnstone will be either moving in the summer for nothing or in two months time for a minimal fee.

The Athletic also reported in the past week that contract talks don’t appear to be progressing, so things aren’t looking great.

We asked our Super Fans for their take on the situation as clubs start to circle, and their response was overwhelming.

The majority still had respect for Johnstone but admitted that he may need to go in order to get any sort of money from this deal.

Here’s what they said below…
