Callum Robison shares private message Robbie Keane sent him after West Brom star hits Ireland treble
Robbie Keane congratulated Callum Robinson after the West Brom forward scored a hat-trick for the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night.
Robinson, 26, has had an international break he’ll never forget, scoring twice in Ireland’s World Cup qualifier win versus Azerbaijan before netting a hat-trick in a friendly win over Qatar.
He’s since been messaged by ex-Ireland and Wolves striker Keane, with the Albion forward sharing the private message from Keane on his Instagram story.
Keane wrote: “Congrats pal, so happy for you. Keep it going, mate.”
Robinson thanked the Ireland legend before captioning the screenshot, saying: “From the legend himself.”
We need Robinson to get back to goalscoring form as soon as possible.
Since hitting three goals in three games at the start of the Championship season, Robinson has gone seven matches without hitting the back of the net.
Valerien Ismael has overlooked the former Sheffield United attacker in that run with the Frenchman opting for his other attacking options instead.
However, with five goals in two games – albeit against two poor international teams – there’s no way that he cannot start against Birmingham on Friday night.
Albion play Blues knowing they lost for the first time this season in the league before the international break started.
We need to bounce back as soon as possible and build some momentum to create a gap between ourselves and third place.
Robinson is one of the best players at the club and we need him to start producing the goods once again.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips feels Albion should’ve made an exception to sign this player in the summer.
