David Prutton predicts West Brom clash v Birmingham
David Prutton has backed Birmingham to leave West Brom with a point at The Hawthorns on Friday evening.
The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that it will finish 1-1 despite the current standings in the Championship painting a different story.
Valerien Ismael has most of his squad available with the big boost of Alex Mowatt being pictured in training.
Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column, Prutton insisted that the Baggies will want to avenge their first defeat.
“West Brom have had a couple of weeks to dwell on their first defeat of the season at Stoke, but it has also given Valerien Ismael some time to reflect and get his side pumped up again for a big run of games,” he said.
“Birmingham have hit the buffers a little lately, and the early-season positivity has ebbed away somewhat after some poor results. Lee Bowyer will be determined to turn it around, and with a few tweaks I think they can get a draw.”
There is no result other than a victory that the Baggies will be settling for tomorrow evening as we return to league action.
It has been a long two weeks reflecting on that defeat at Stoke, and the players will be more determined than ever to get all three points in this massive derby night.
Changes can be expected for this game given the lacklustre display last time out at the Bet365 Stadium.
Birmingham have failed to win any of their previous five outings, only scoring once and conceding a huge 12 goals.
If that is the form of a team who can come to The Hawthorns and snatch a point, maybe promotion won’t be as straightforward as some have predicted this season – three points or nothing.
