West Brom star Karlan Grant discusses his time with the Baggies
West Brom star Karlan Grant admits that last season was tough for him but he feels confident again this time around.
Speaking to the Express & Star, the 24-year-old opened up on his first season at the Hawthorns and how it impacted him.
However, he believes that the arrival of Valerien Ismael has had a big impact on his confidence, and he feels good now.

He said: “I didn’t have a pre-season coming in so late. Then I got injured, and then I wasn’t in the team.
“You do lose confidence.
“So it was all about trying to build that back up. The main thing for me this season was getting back playing again and scoring goals.
“Now I feel like I’m doing that; I’m bouncing back.
“The gaffer has instilled a lot of confidence into the team; we all get on – it’s a positive place.
“The team has shown a lot of faith in me this term, and I’m grateful for that.”
Good to hear.
It is nice and refreshing to hear a footballer open up on their struggles, and it is clear that last season was tough for Grant.
However, he has started this season well with five goals in 12 games, making him the Baggies’ top goalscorer.
Now, the former Huddersfield Town man is usually a striker, but he has spent most of his time this season on the left, cutting in on his right foot.

He scored some good goals from this position, including the winner on Friday night against Birmingham City, which was a stunning goal to light up a dreadful game.
He has not only scored five goals this season, but three of them have been crucial in helping win poor matches.
It looks as if Grant is on for a good season, and it is great to hear that he feels confident again, thanks to Ismael and the squad around him.
