Alex Mowatt out in two changes: West Brom predicted XI v Swansea
Valerien Ismael is predicted to make two changes to the West Brom starting line-up for the clash against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.
Alex Mowatt is likely to miss out due to a foot injury and Ismael has been quoted by the Express & Star as saying that Jayson Molumby is “ready” to earn his full Baggies debut in Swansea this week.
Speaking ahead of the game, Ismael also confirmed that Grady Diangana will miss out again with a hamstring injury. However, the Frenchman is still likely to make one change to his attack with Jordan Hugill potentially replacing Callum Robinson.
Sam Johnstone is expected to start in goals behind an unchanged back-three of Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Matt Clarke.
Darnell Furlong and Conor Townsend, who impressed in the 1-0 win over Birmingham last Friday, are both likely to keep their spots in the two wing-back positions.
In the midfield, Jake Livermore could be joined by Molumby. The 22-year-old, who’s on loan at the Baggies from Brighton, played well as a substitute in that win over Blues last week and with Mowatt out, the Ireland international could be handed a proper chance to shine.
Ismael has often changed his attack around this season and even though Diangana is out, we expect the same to happen again at Swansea on Wednesday night.
Hugill may be yet to score for the Albion but Robinson isn’t in the best of form either at club level and the 26-year-old is likely to be axed in favour of the Norwich loanee.
Either side of Hugill, we expect Matt Phillips and Karlan Grant to start with the latter in superb goalscoring form and bagging the winner over Birmingham last week.
In other West Brom news, Albion may have agreed a behind the scenes deal with this star player.
