Pundit: West Brom to make two changes to starting XI v Bristol City, Jordan Hugill starts

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Robert Snodgrass and Jordan Hugill could both come into the starting line-up for West Brom when they face Bristol City at The Hawthorns on Saturday, according to Kevin Phillips.

Jake Livermore is suspended and Alex Mowatt missed the defeat to Swansea on Wednesday, meaning that Valerien Ismael could be forced into naming a midfield duo of Robert Snodgrass and Jayson Molumby.

Phillips feels there could also be a change in the attack with striker Jordan Hugill coming in to replace someone.

Speaking to West Brom News, Phillips said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if he does make changes.

Snodgrass for one and it wouldn’t surprise me if Molumby starts again in front of the home supporters.

Snoddy can’t give you that high energy press but he’ll work his socks off.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Hugill comes in either.

Ismael likes to change the side a bit and he generally does after there’s been a loss.

Maybe they are the two changes.”

Molumby made his full West Brom debut on Wednesday night as Albion let slip of a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 away at Swansea.

Snodgrass is yet to start in the Championship this season but with Livermore and potentially Mowatt out of contention to start against Bristol City, there aren’t many other options for Ismael to go with.

Bristol City have been in wonderful form away from home this season, winning four of their six matches on their travels.

However, West Brom are unbeaten at The Hawthorns, making this a very interesting match.
