Steve Madeley: West Brom already know what they want in January window
West Brom and Valerien Ismael already know what they want in the upcoming January transfer window.
That’s according to Steve Madeley of The Athletic, who has mentioned the final third and central midfield as two possible areas.
The reliable journalist has also predicted that a move could be revisited for Orlando star Daryl Dike, should the finances be sorted out.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Madeley shared the major update on what could be expected at the start of next year.
“Ismael already has a clear idea of what he wants to do in the January transfer window and it is difficult to think filling that vacancy up front is not at the top of his list, followed closely by additional cover in the centre of midfield,” he wrote.
“Resurrecting their interest in Dike in the winter window would be a positive move for Albion. He already knows the Championship, has succeeded in it and could potentially hit the ground running.”

Get it done?
Looking at the 2-1 defeat against Swansea and watching Jordan Hugill, it was very hard to take in.
The striker has nowhere near settled at The Hawthorns and looks to be lacking the serious pace needed to become a real threat in this fast-flowing system going forward.
Ismael likes to win the ball back in dangerous positions and turn defence into attack in the blink of an eye, and that just isn’t Hugill’s game, who relies on physicality more than anything.
Dike, on the other hand, is perfect for that.
The American international has been described as “unbelievable” in the past by Ismael from their time together at Barnsley, and he would surely be desperate for a reunion.
Finances are key behind this happening though, and if the demands aren’t lowered, it simply won’t go through – fingers crossed a resolution can be found.
