Daryl Dike is number one target for West Brom in January
West Brom have made Orlando attacker Daryl Dike their number one target for the January transfer window.
That’s according to the Express and Star who share that Valerien Ismael wants reinforcements in the final third at The Hawthorns.
It is suggested that the outstanding form of the 21-year-old could price the Baggies out of a potential move though.
Options at the Hawthorns aren’t exactly brilliant.
Callum Robinson started the season on fire in the Championship but has since found things difficult, scoring more goals on the international stage with the Republic of Ireland.
Add to that the rotation with Jordan Hugill and neither attacker can get any sort of consistency in the final third.
Thankfully, Karlan Grant has stepped up massively and is single-handily winning the Albion points at this moment in time.
Ismael brought Alex Mowatt to The Hawthorns from Barnsley, and he has been an inspirational signing.
Dike was also at Oakwell during his success, and even a loan move for the American could prove to be a brilliant piece of business.
The Frenchman even labelled the striker as “unbelievable” during their time together in Yorkshire, and that partnership could be set to work again.
Finances are clearly the big issue, and a loan move with an obligation to buy should promotion be secured appears to be the like route.
Signings are needed, and they could easily turn out to be the difference between promotion or another year in the Championship.
