David Prutton predicts West Brom clash v Nottingham Forest
West Brom and Nottingham Forest will share the points in their Championship meeting this evening, believes David Prutton.
The Baggies are back at the Hawthorns to face the Reds, having struggled away at Huddersfield Town and Blackpool over the last week.
Sky Sports pundit Prutton has gone for a 1-1 draw in the West Midlands and cast doubt over the future of Albion boss Valerien Ismael.
Writing in his latest predictions column, Prutton said: “The locals are getting restless with Valerien Ismael. The results have dried up, the performances haven’t been great and the top two are slipping away.
“Nottingham Forest are ticking along picking up points under Steve Cooper, but unless they can turn draws into wins, any push for the top six will elude them. I think this will be another draw that doesn’t really suit either side.”
Prutton has summed up the mood among Baggies fans pretty well. Patience is wearing thin with Ismael, with West Brom being found out too easily by their opponents and lacking a cutting edge in the final third.
If Albion were to only draw against Forest this evening, or even worse lose the match, then it would extend their winless run to four matches and make it just one victory in six.
It would also give Fulham and Bournemouth the incentive to extend their advantage over the Baggies on Saturday afternoon, with the Cottagers travelling to Preston North End and the Cherries hosting Coventry City.
Forest are a stubborn side and are unbeaten in their last five matches, although four of those have been draws. The Reds have only lost one of their previous 12 fixtures and that was against leaders Fulham, so Albion are in for a tough game.
In other West Brom news, one Albion star has spoken out on the club’s promotion hopes.
