Kevin Phillips predicts West Brom v Nottingham Forest
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips predicts West Brom will return to winning ways when they welcome Nottingham Forest to The Hawthorns on Friday night.
Albion will go into the game without a win in their last three Championship fixtures and eight points behind second-placed Bournemouth in the race for automatic promotion.
Forest, on the other hand, are unbeaten in five but have drawn four of those matches.

Phillips has been impressed by the job Steve Cooper has done at the City Ground but is still backing the Baggies to get a win over the East Midlands club on Friday night.
Speaking to West Brom News, Phillips said: “I think it’ll be difficult.
“Forest have hit some great form under new management and a new style of play. They’ll be full of confidence but I see it being a really, really tight game.
“It’s a huge game for West Brom and if they can get a result, it puts a bit of pressure on the top two if they can kickstart a little run over Christmas where the games come thick and fast.
“I’m going to go for a 2-1 win to the Baggies to get them back to winning ways.”

Valerien Ismael has found himself under increasing pressure amid Albion’s rotten run of form in the Championship.
His side is just three points clear of seventh-place and if he’s not careful, their bid to finish in the top-two could become an effort to hang onto a play-off place.
In other West Brom news, Phillips is baffled by this “farcical” announcement about a Baggies player.
