Chris Lepkowski destroys West Brom transfer links to Dwight Gayle
West Brom have once again been linked with a move for Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle with Chris Lepkowski destroying those links.
Mike McGrath reported on Thursday that the Baggies could bring the forward back to The Hawthorns on loan, with promotion leading to an obligation to buy.
Lepkowski has labelled the rumours and “predictable” as they seem to resurface every single year coming up to January.
Writing on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, Lepkowski
“The most predictable and underwhelming rumour,” he wrote.
“Linked with ageing players, way past their best. And we accuse other clubs of living in the past.”
Embarrassing.
As Lepkowski mentions, this is simply laughable and predictable with it coming up yet again as we approach the winter window.
Valerien Ismael wants Daryl Dike, it has been reported that he is the number one target over January [Express and Star].
The American is young, stocky but has pace to burn, and has proved he can find the back of the net in the Championship.
Gayle can obviously score for fun too, but what happens if we do earn promotion? We are stuck with a player at the wrong end of his career, who has continuously proved he can’t do it in the Premier League anymore.
Will the Newcastle man run himself into the ground for the team? It is unlikely, and right now we are crying out for some strong characters to get us through this rut.
The Albion need signings desperately, but let’s not get stuck in the past.
