Chris Lepkowski blown away by West Brom defender Taylor Gardner-Hickman

Chris Lepkowski has been blown away by West Brom defender Taylor Gardner-Hickman who won Man of the Match on Saturday afternoon.

The 19-year-old put in a stellar performance as Valerien Ismael’s side raced to a 2-1 victory against promotion rivals Coventry.

Starting in only his second senior game, the Englishman showcased why the manager trusted him to get the job done.

Via his personal Twitter account, Lepkowski wrote, “Ismael a big one for stats and data. Hopefully these will be factored in for forthcoming games. This lad has a bright future. Impressive today. Again.”

Destined for glory

Gardner-Hickman has proven that he deserves the complete trust of the manager and he’s an option the Baggies can rely on.

Fighting for promotion is not going to be easy and Ismael will have to rely on the depth in his squad.

The 19-year-old has stepped up to the task and in only his second senior start has won the man of the match award.

It’s important that Ismael ensures that his head is still focused on improving while his feet remain on the ground.

Numerous players have had a few good games early on in their careers and have then tailed off and it’s essential that it does not happen with him.
