Kevin Phillips shares if Valerien Ismael will change West Brom system v Coventry
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has insisted that Valerien Ismael won’t want to change his West Brom system for the Championship clash with Coventry.
The former Baggies striker has exclusively shared that he expects the same system despite the midfield crisis awaiting him.
Alex Mowatt is the only fit central midfielder available with up to seven players ruled out for this afternoon’s game.

Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Phillips believes that a small tweak could be something that kickstarts a run of form at The Hawthorns.
“That’s the only thing, he is reluctant to change that system.”
“He likes three at the back with the wing-backs, there may potentially be a time where form and results are not great – they may be an opportunity or a situation where his hand has been forced to change the system, it may be that little tweak that gets them back on form.
“It might be a change. My gut feeling is that he’ll stick with the same system that he has all season and he’ll go with the same, it’s a tough game and they need to get some sort of result.”

With Jake Livermore, Jayson Molumby and Robert Snodgrass all confirmed to be out, the first two from suspension, options are limited.
Quevin Castro is the first option from the academy with others such as Semi Ajayi a possible option moving forward this afternoon.
This system has been a struggle in recent weeks, and this would be the perfect chance to change things around slightly, but it looks as though that won’t be happening here.
