Chris Lepkowski issues West Brom January transfer update

West Brom are reportedly making progress in their quest to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

According to Chris Lepkowski, the Baggies have identified three suitable candidates and are in talks with them to join in the winter.

He claims that the club will only sign one of those players, but that there is confidence among the Hawthorns hierarchy of getting the deal over the line.

On the recent episode of the Liquidator podcast, Lepkowski said, “I do have a little bit of an update. Some conversations are already taking place to sign a striker.

“Three players are being targeted and obviously, only one would be signed. There is progress being made there and there is confidence that the one deal will get done.”

Great news

At this point, any striker would be an upgrade on the current West Brom attack so it’s welcome news that they’re close to getting a deal done.

Valerien Ismael can’t be faulted entirely for the lack of goals in the past as he did not get what he wanted in the summer.

Jordan Hugill, who arrived on loan from Norwich, has been abject, to say the least, and has featured sparingly under Ismael this term.

The second half of the season gives the Baggies a great chance to go on a run and they need a quality striker to help them with it.

Hopefully, they manage to sign Daryl Dike, who’s previously worked under Ismael at Barnsley.

He knows exactly what the manager wants and would slot into this system like a fish to water and give them the promotion boost that they crave.
