Chris Lepkowski makes West Brom-Valerien Ismael unrest claim
Chris Lepkowski has claimed that there are people at West Brom who are not happy with Valerien Ismael’s recent success.
The Baggies have capitalised on Bournemouth’s slump in form and are now just three points behind them.
With little over half the season left, Ismael’s men find themselves in third place on the Championship table.
On the recent episode of the Liquidator podcast, discussing Ismael’s standing at the club, Lepkowski said, “I think that there are little fires behind him that aren’t helping his cause. There are reasons for motivating the people (against Ismael), whatever they might be, I don’t know.”
To which Adrian Goldberg responded, “You’re suggesting that there are people behind the scenes at the Hawthorns who aren’t willing to give him credit when things are going well.
“Perhaps one or two people with their personal agendas, whatever they may be, are not being fully supportive of the manager.”
Lepkowski claimed, “Yes, I think you get that with a new manager, especially where there is a culture of decline at the club over the last few years.”
There surely would have been some thought process behind giving Ismael the reins to the job.
After impressing with Barnsley, many deemed him to be the right man to take over and guide West Brom to promotion.
Things have not been perfect, but they certainly have not been awful and the club remain five points away from first place.
Ismael cannot be blamed for the board’s failure to sign a new striker in the summer.
It’s really shocking that people at the club actually want him to fail and we do not know who they are or why they want this to happen.
Hopefully, the majority of the decision makers are behind the Frenchman and back him in the January window to get the players in to secure promotion.
In other West Brom news, the club are planning to sell a ‘Fantastic’ player in January but he’s unwilling to leave
