West Brom target Daryl Dike will command hefty loan fee

West Brom could target Daryl Dike in the January transfer window but he would command a hefty transfer fee, according to reports from The Athletic.

Valerien Ismael wants to add a striker to his ranks, but doubts remain about whether the Baggies have enough funds to bring in any new players.

The report claims that Dike is an “obvious” target for West Brom. He helped Ismael take Barnsley to the Championship play-offs last season.

The Baggies are third in the Championship table with 40 points, and they are looking for automatic promotion this season.

Ismael has had a positive meeting with Guochuan Lai but it is not known whether he will get sufficient financial backing in January.

The Baggies are one of the high spenders on wages in the league and they could struggle to bring in new players next month.

Having said that, West Brom haven’t spent at all on transfer fees during the summer, so they should have funds for new additions, especially after the sale of Matheus Pereira.

A loan deal would be a good move for all parties involved here.

The Major League Soccer season is now over, it could be the perfect time to bring the Orlando City striker at the Hawthorns.

He has scored 11 goals in 2021 in 19 appearances. Last season, he nine goals in the Championship for Barnsley.

Orlando City are expected to demand a hefty loan fee, but surely the Baggies have the funds to meet their requirements.

In other West Brom news, Albion must do everything they can to keep hold of this “fantastic” player in January.
