West Brom Super fans react to links with Barnsley attacker Cauley Woodrow

According to The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley, West Brom are considering signing Barnsley attacker Cauley Woodrow in the January transfer window.

Valerien Ismael wants to strengthen the Albion attack, and is keen to reunite with the 27-year-old.

Woodrow has 18 months remaining on his Oakwell contract, so a fee would be required, and while his experience would come in handy at The Hawthorns, his return of four goals in 22 Championship appearances in 2021-22 is not particularly impressive.

We asked our esteemed panel of West Brom Super Fans whether they would love to see the former Fulham striker snapped up, and here is what they had to say…

Ismael knows he will be working on a limited budget next month, and he is looking to cut his coat according to his size.

Woodrow has been far from prolific this season, but 27 league goals and seven assists across 2019-20 and 2020-21 hint at what he is capable of doing.

The Tykes have been generally poor this season, and it appears that has rubbed off on the striker.

Reuniting with the Frenchman and Alex Mowatt could bring out the best in him again, and a chance to play for a side chasing promotion would be tempting.

Barnsley could end up relegating, and while losing Woodrow next month could further deal a blow on their slim chances of staying up, West Brom can tempt them into selling by offering a good deal.

The Baggies faithful would love to see a prolific striker capable of firing them up during the second half of the season, but it would take top dollar to land one right now.

The club are looking to settle for a decent option that is very much affordable, and should a move work out, Woodrow could prove to be a bargain signing given his track record.
