Valerien Ismael slams desk after West Brom defeat v Derby

Valerien Ismael slammed the desk repeatedly in anger during his post-match press conference after West Brom lost at Derby.

Birmingham World journalist Ben Ramsdale shared the carnage, something he has never seen before from the Frenchman.

The Baggies once again had numerous chances to go ahead but threw them all away before gifting Colin Kazim-Richards and the Rams all three points.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Ramsdale shared the commotion from the latest press conference of Ismael.

“A very intense press conference from Valerien Ismael who repeatedly slammed the desk when answering questions from the journalists in attendance,” he wrote.

“Haven’t seen him this angry before.”

Let down.

Ismael is stubborn, and we all agree that he could do with changing his strict methods at times to better our fortunes.

But, when your side are missing numerous guilt-edge chances every single week, what more can one person do off the pitch?

Jordan Hugill missed a sitter at Barnsley last week, Callum Robinson was through on goal at Derby and passed it straight at the keeper.

If you want to win promotion, you have to be ruthless and these chances have been the difference between one point and six, in the end.

No wonder Ismael is raging with what he is seeing right now, something needs to change, and quickly.

The Frenchman could benefit from slightly adapting things at times, too, with certain predictability surrounding our play at this moment in time.

Otherwise, there could be more angry moments to come.
