Steve Madeley suggests West Brom are missing out on Forest-bound Keinan Davis
The Athletic reporter suggests the striker may have been on “Albion’s list” after Telegraph journalist Percy revealed Davis is set for a Forest medical.
The Athletic’s West Brom reporter suggests that Davis, who has found minutes hard to come by at Villa, may have been wanted by the Baggies before edging closer to a Forest switch.
Madeley admits that Davis was unlikely to have been atop West Brom’s list of January possibilities.
Percy’s original tweet read:
Reinforcements up top
Karlan Grant is West Brom’s top scorer this season with nine goals in 23 appearances for the Baggies in the Championship.
Despite this being a decent return, fans will see the likes of Aleksandar Mitrović, Ben Brereton Díaz and Dominic Solanke either exceeding 20 or getting close for direct promotion rivals.
It seems likely that West Brom will look to make some additions in attack this January.
Daryl Dike, who excelled on loan at Barnsley, as well as former Baggies star Dwight Gayle and Brentford’s Marcus Forss have all been linked with a switch to the Hawthorns this January.
Keinan Davis would be lower on my list of suggestions for West Brom. At 23, the Aston Villa forward has only netted three times for the club despite extended Championship game time prior to Villa’s promotion.
He has only scored one goal in the Premier League, albeit in minimal game time following the signing of Ollie Watkins last summer. Now with Danny Ings through the door, Davis, who joined Villa as a teen in 2015, is further down the pecking order.
It will be interesting to see how Davis fares at Forest, but there are better
In other West Brom news, Carlton Palmer has claimed a former Baggies hero could be a January transfer option.
