Norwich City plan to recall Jordan Hugill on loan from West Brom
Norwich City are reportedly still understood to be keen on recalling Jordan Hugill, who is on loan at West Brom.
According to Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the plan is still for the 29-year-old to go back to the Premier League side.
The Englishman has played 20 Championship games this season and has scored just one goal, which is far from an impressive tally.
There were few people who were excited when Hugill, a player labelled “fantastic” by Carlton Palmer, was announced on a season-long loan.
Most were just relieved that the Baggies had signed a striker as it seemed like they wouldn’t for the longest time.
However, after a few games, the fans along with Valerien Ismael released that he’s not quite the right fit for this club.
Now, after Daryl Dike’s arrival, the door is open for him to leave and they probably would be hoping for Norwich to recall him quickly.
This would save the Baggies a lot on wages as they’ve not signed him on free and they could look to spend that money to either hand contract extensions to certain players or try getting a new player through the door.
It remains to be seen if there are any more major signings in January, possibly in midfield, as that’s another area of the pitch were the team needs to be strengthened.
