Robinson keen to link up with 'exciting' new West Brom signing Dike
West Brom added to their attacking repertoire with the signing of American Daryl Dike and his arrival has got the Baggies excited.
None more so than creative force Callum Robinson who is set to link up with the 21-year-old for West Brim’s FA Cup tie against Brighton on Saturday.
The Republic of Ireland international is keen to see what the powerhouse forward can bring to the Hawthorns.
“It’s exciting,” Robinson said to the Express and Star when asked about Dike’s arrival.
“He is going to be another addition to the forward line and that is what we need.
“If he can score and assist and help us get promoted that is what we need – we need different weapons.
“The boss has worked with him at Barnsley and hopefully he can bring the goods and bring the goals for us.”
A fruitful partnership
The thought of Robinson and Dike linking up in a West Brom shirt is an exciting prospect indeed for Baggies fans.
It’s no secret that Valerien Ismael’s side have been crying out for some inspiration in attack and Dike’s arrival has encouraged supporters that the goals are coming.
Robinson is capable of creating chances from nothing and has done so far this season but the conversion rate of these chances has plummeted having been one of the league’ best in the early part of the season.
They now lie towards the bottom of the chance conversion rate table in the Championship and that is why Dike has been brought in.
His impressive goal record for Barnsley last season and in the MLS with Orlando City is something Ismael hopes he can continue at the Hawthorns to avoid the club losing touch with the trio of promotion contenders ahead of them.
A no-pressure FA Cup game is an ideal chance for Dike and Robinson to begin their partnership which Baggies fans hope will flourish for years to come.
