Ismael ‘not satisfied’ – insistent on West Brom turnaround

West Brom manager Valerien Ismael has reaffirmed his belief in his methods and his team after a poor run of results has seen them drop to fifth.

The Baggies’ latest defeat to QPR saw the Hoops leapfrog them into the top four and there are more teams hunting West Brom down in a bid for a playoff place.

There are no signs of panic though at the Hawthorns with Ismael moving to reassure supporters that a turnaround in form is coming for his side despite admitting results are not good enough.

“It’s been a tough time and we are not satisfied with the results, but I am positive,” Ismael said, as quoted by the Express and Star.

“I know when we get players back, with the quality we have got, with the work ethic we have got – things will improve.

“We have got Dike now as well. That will give us a massive push.”

Must happen now

Things simply cannot stay as they are and the change in fortunes must start on Saturday (22 January).

These next four games could well be crucial for Ismael’s future at the club with a massive clash with Blackburn coming up in February.

The Baggies host Peterborough United this weekend and they won’t get a better chance to stop the rot with Posh having just one league win since October.

Three potentially tricky games follow in the form of Preston, Millwall and Sheffield United where a total of seven points is probably the minimum they need to achieve in order to put themselves back in promotion contention.

If West Brom come through these games having taken 12 points from 12, then Baggies fans can relax a little knowing they have potentially saved their season but more defeats will raise the pressure on Ismael.

In other West Brom news, David Prutton has predicted this weekend’s game claiming a disaster may happen.
