Kevin Phillips delighted as Kyle Bartley makes West Brom return v Peterborough
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips believes that Kyle Bartley’s return is a massive boost for West Brom and Valerien Ismael.
The 30-year-old last featured in the FA Cup defeat against Brighton on January 8.
He returned to the eleven in the 3-0 win against Peterborough on Saturday and fit in seamlessly into the back three.

It was another impressive display by the Englishman and played a key role in maintaining a clean sheet for Ismael’s side.
Cedric Kipre and Matt Clarke were also more assured presences on the ball as they had the experienced Bartley next to them.
Asked if having Bartley back was a boost, Phillips told West Brom News, “Of course it is. You’ve got a big, solid, strong centre half.
“He’s also a leader. He organises the players on the pitch.
“The manager will also be glad to have him back.”

The Baggies still find themselves playing catchup in the Championship and are currently four points off the automatic promotion spot.
Fulham with 57 points are clear favourites to finish first and it seems like there will be a handful teams fighting for second until the end of the season.
