Robert Snodgrass and Kenneth Zohore unlikely to leave West Brom in January – report

West Brom are unlikely to see Robert Snodgrass and Kenneth Zohore leave the club this winter despite neither being in Valerien Ismael’s plans, according to Birmingham Mail.

The Baggies are focused on transfer outgoings this winter after securing the signing of Daryl Dike at the start of the month from Orlando City FC.

But while some loan deals are possible, the club are open to offers for both Snodgrass and Zohore on permanent deals. Unfortunately, no interested parties have come forward yet and a deal to see them leave seems unlikely.

Due to this, Birmingham Mail say that ‘at this moment’ it seems as though both players will stay at the club until the end of the season at least.

Snodgrass’ contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, while Zohore’s deal runs until June 2023. Neither have featured for the first-team since Novemeber and weren’t in the match-day squad against Peterborough.

Focus

The club are focused on making deals that would see players leave and free up some cash to potentially do more business.

Snodgrass is 34-years-old and has six months left on his deal so he’s unlikely to help that scenario too much, but Zohore is expected to earn ‘a hefty salary’ while he’s at the club.

Jordan Hugill is another player who is taking up space on the wage bill currently, so there are plenty of players that can be moved on for the Baggies.

Manager Valerien Ismael has made it abundantly clear that these players are not in his plans going forward, but the club need to do better to find a way to get them gone.

Until then, they are holding the team back more than they are helping it and West Brom’s promotion bid continues to hang in the balance.
