View: West Brom boosted as Vedat Muriqi could play last game for Lazio on Sunday

West Brom target Vedat Muriqi could play his last game for Lazio on Sunday [Jan 23] before a transfer according to Il Messaggero .

Muriqi has been linked with a move to the Hawthorns with Valerien Ismael desperate to add goals to his side having already signed Daryl Dike this month from Orlando City FC.

The 27-year-old is keen to leave Lazio after making just one start in Serie A this season, and going 15 games in all competitions without a goal.

It now seems he will get his wish as Il Messaggero report that he is ‘one step away’ from a move, and Calciomercato claim that West Brom are among the interested parties.

They say Lazio want a loan with the right of redemption, and that a deal is ‘on the home straight’ with an unnamed club.

West Brom need goals and to score goals they need strikers. They already signed Dike earlier this month and while he has played fairly well in his two appearances so far, he’s yet to find the net.

The Baggies earned a 3-0 win in their last game against Peterborough, but it took until the 78th minute for them to break the deadlock.

Defensively they are still solid, with the best defence in the league in the league but you can’t win games if you don’t score goals.

Muriqi would come in from a high level and expect to be a regular starter, with his aerial ability and good finishing exactly what this Baggies side needs.

It would be a good signing for West Brom and Ismael, but they face competition and should move quickly to get it done if they can.
