West Brom consider loan signing to cover Daryl Dike injury blow – The Athletic

West Brom have been hit with the major blow that Daryl Dike will be out for the next two months with his hamstring injury.

The Athletic have now reported that the Baggies are looking into a potential loan signing to cover this loan at The Hawthorns.

It would need to be a deadline-busting deal with no concrete links or moves ready to be made despite being in the final week of the window.

Writing for The Athletic, Steve Madeley shared the latest with Monday’s deadline quickly approaching for clubs in Europe.

“West Bromwich Albion have suffered an injury blow with January signing Daryl Dike ruled out until after the March international break with a hamstring problem, which could lead to the club signing a replacement on loan,” he wrote.

“The injury could rule Dike out for as many as 11 games, with West Brom now considering signing a replacement on loan before the January transfer window deadline.”

Awful.

This one didn’t look good from the moment Dike went down and was forced off injured in that win over Peterborough.

Hamstring injuries are the worst kind, and our fears have come true with our marquee signing missing the majority of the run-in towards the end of the season.

A new signing is needed, there are no ifs, buts or maybe – this has to be done before Monday or we are in real trouble.

Goals have been a real trouble before the big win over Peterborough, with Dike bringing a much-needed urgency in the final third.

We are expecting movement very soon, with an attacking loan move surely the priority with six days to go.
