West Brom set for ‘extremely difficult’ showdown v Luton Town – Kevin Phillips

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Kevin Phillips has insisted that West Brom are set for an “extremely difficult” clash at Luton Town this afternoon.

The ex-Baggies talisman has heaped praise on Nathan Jones, who has his side knowing every last one of their jobs in the team.

Steve Bruce will be desperate for three points after failing in his two matches against Sheffield United and Blackburn.

West Brom

“100%,” he exclusively told West Brom News.

“Anyone who comes up against Luton are always up for a tough, tough match, they’ve had some good results this season, the manager there, he gets the best out of those players.

“They’re an extremely difficult team to play so Steve Bruce will know that, they’ll be well prepared. Again, they can’t afford to drop too many points, these are the sort of games they need to pick up points in.”

West Brom

Desperate.

If the Baggies are that serious about changing their season around, it simply has to start here, with no excuses.

The Albion have been nowhere near good enough, Bruce will know that and he hasn’t changed much yet.

He will get the benefit of the doubt given he has inherited this squad, but big changes in the system need to be made.

If he fails once again here, the pressure will really be rising from all angles, with the squad facing some serious questions.

Get it done.
