Kevin Phillips shares verdict on West Brom return of Daryl Dike after big injury blow
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has insisted that West Brom and Steve Bruce don’t need to rush Daryl Dike back into action after his injury.
The ex-Baggies talisman admitted that the last thing wanted is for the American to come back too early and injure himself again.
The Albion take on Fulham this evening (15 March) in the Championship, with Andy Carroll likely to play a big role after his cameo in the Huddersfield draw.

“He has to [find that balance],” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“Being a manager myself now, you’ve got to be very cautious, of course, listen to your medical and sports science team.
“The last thing you want to do is rush someone and they break down, then you can miss them for the rest of the season, so it will be a case of returning gradually.
“Karlan Grant is scoring goals, so that has taken a little bit of pressure off.”

It would be a huge boost to have Dike back available.
Bruce has made it quite clear that the Bristol City clash at the weekend is likely the one where he could make his return.
With Carroll and Karlan Grant both finding the back of the net recently, those two will be given the chance to start this evening.
Fulham are a completely different animal in this league and are running away with things, so a big performance and result could turn everything around this season.
Could a win followed by Dike’s return kickstart something special?
