Jake Livermore contract clause triggered, will spend another year at West Brom – report
West Brom have triggered a clause in the contract of captain Jake Livermore, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The newspaper has reported on their website that the Baggies skipper will remain at The Hawthorns for an extra year.
Livermore will be with the Baggies until the end of the 2022/23 season now, which is likely to still be in the Championship.

Livermore has split opinion more than most throughout the years at The Hawthorns, and that has never stopped.
Steve Bruce has come in and added an extra man to what has been a two-man midfield for so long, something which appears to have helped.
However, that red card that is continuously waiting to happen is always there to knock him back to the start every time.

Leadership?
Of course, some fans will be happy with the news, but there has to be a moment where Livermore is replaced.
With his contract expiring at the end of this season, a new era could have begun with a younger, better replacement was brought into the club.
That could still happen, but it would be no surprise to see Livermore still starting ahead of the new signing, whoever it may be.
Livermore will bring brilliant experience to the side next season still, though, and that is one thing that can rarely be bought.
With no guarantee on Bruce’s future at the club though, this appears to be a strange decision right now, as anyone could be in charge of the first day of next season.
Let’s hope we don’t come to regret this.
