West Brom ‘have to understand the expectations’ – Semi Ajayi

West Brom might have gone unbeaten in their last four Championship games but they are still down in 12th in the league table.

Seven successive games without a victory before this recent good run has massively hampered the Baggies’ hopes of making a play-off place.

Albion defender Semi Ajayi has admitted that things weren’t good enough previously and accepts that the reactions of the supporters were justifiable.

“The crowd’s reaction recently has been understandable,” Ajayi said, as quoted by the Express and Star.

“If you want to play for a big club, you have to understand the expectations are high. The fans are expecting us to be challenging high up the league and winning games.

“If that’s not happening, they have every right to show their displeasure. As players, we have to be big enough to take that on our shoulders and react positively to that.”

Move past it

No one at the football club is under any illusions about the dire form that the Baggies went through in January and February and how badly it has impacted this entire season.

The retched form had to be changed and to Steve Bruce’s credit, it has and Albion are now looking up the table rather than down.

Now is the time to forget those horrible couple of months and focus fully on what is to come rather than what has already passed.

West Brom will get nowhere by focussing on the negatives of the game but if a positive mindset is instilled into not only the players but the supporters too, the sky is the limit.

Bruce will have his plan in place for every game and if it is executed to perfection, West Brom will be very hard to stop.
