Joe Chapman shares ‘bizarre’ West Brom scenes that fumed Steve Bruce

Joe Chapman has shared the “bizarre” decision he saw the referee make that left West Brom manager Steve Bruce fuming on the touchline.

Despite the controversial decision, Albion went into the break 2-0 to the good against Bournemouth thanks to goals from Andy Carroll and Alex Mowatt

The former Hull City manager was adamant his side should have been awarded a penalty as Baggies defender Semi Ajayi was brought down in the box.

He wrote on his personal Twitter: “Ajayi ends up on the floor in the box, having not touched anybody, but Bournemouth get the free-kick.

“Bizarre, and Bruce is not happy.”

Typical

Who would have thought it? When West Brom seemingly has absolutely no pressure on them at all, they go out and put in a performance like that.

These players must only turn up for the big games. First, they beat Fulham and now they find themselves 2-0 up at halftime against Bournemouth.

West Brom

What a joke – why couldn’t they have played like this when it mattered with their late promotion hopes all but sealed with the defeat at Birmingham the final nail in the coffin.

Despite the hugely positive result as it stands, Albion actually hasn’t played all that different tonight [April 6] at the Hawthorns.

The goals came from some rather direct football up to Andy Carroll who did brilliantly but otherwise, it has been more of the same boring football from Bruce’s team.

Maybe the players have that extra edge now that their futures are on the line as the season nears a close. As if fighting for the fans or the disgustingly high wages they earn wasn’t enough.
