Sky Sports pundit Jamie Dyer shares what made Steve Bruce sigh after West Brom win v Blackpool

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Dyer has shared that Steve Bruce let out a huge sigh after West Brom snatched a last-gasp win over Blackpool.

Going into the final seconds at The Hawthorns with the scores level, Karlan Grant smashed home to seal a 2-1 win.

Bruce looked far from impressed though, with the inconsistencies continuing after the defeat against Stoke last week.

Speaking live on Sky Sports’ Gilette Soccer Special this afternoon [15 April], Dyer shared what he saw Bruce do.

“I just saw a big sigh of relief from Steve Bruce on the sidelines, because they conceded late goals against Stoke last week,” he said.

“But it’s his side doing that today.”

Consistency.

That is the one thing we have been missing all season.

We are only five points off the playoffs after this win, and given all of our losses and draws over the past two months, that is surprising.

It also shows that with a little consistency, we would have been easily in that top six, and likely still near that top two.

Grant and the likes of Andy Carroll need to be the ones to bring this Albion side forward, and those two have certainly secured their future.

Others still have more to prove, including Bruce, who likely didn’t want to get carried away with no guarantee he will be here beyond this season.

That is the sigh of a man who knew that drawing at home to Blackpool, no offence to them, is not good enough and won’t be tolerated.

Time will tell if this is the team that will take us forward.
