Sky Sports pundit Dean Ashton predicts ‘deep rooted’ issues at West Brom behind the scenes
Dean Ashton has insisted that there are deep-rooted issues “behind the scenes” at West Brom at this moment.
The Sky Sports pundit predicted that the Baggies still cannot be counted out of making the Championship playoffs.
Karlan Grant’s last-gasp winner against Blackpool left The Albion five points off the top six with four left to play.

Speaking live on EFL on Quest on Friday evening [15 April], Ashton has not been impressed with what he has seen.
“How could you count out a team that’s got the players that West Brom have got,” he said.
“Albeit they haven’t won back to back since December, so it doesn’t look likely, I think very deep-rooted problems at West Brom behind-the-scenes.”

Problems?
There has to be a fresh start next season.
One thing that we have been missing throughout this entire campaign is the consistency needed for promotion.
Although it is still possible, we find it highly unlikely that we will finish in that top six, and those dreams could be ended at Nottingham Forest on Monday.
Steve Bruce may not even be in charge next season, so there may be a complete restart, with numerous signings also needed.
Could these so-called problems which we all know who Ashton is alluding to make things hard though? We surely hope not.
A complete rebuild with some players leaving and some coming in is needed, and that will hopefully get rid of any deep-lying issues on the pitch.
All we can do at this stage is win our final four games which is definitely possible, and then see if others slip up and open the back door for us.
