Joseph Masi blown away by what Ajayi did during West Brom v Coventry

Joseph Masi was thrilled by what West Brom defender Semi Ajayi did in the first half against Coventry.

The game has been goalless but the Baggies have had some decent opportunities to break the deadlock.

Ajayi made a good overlapping run but unfortunately for Steve Bruce’s men, they couldn’t get a goal out of it.

Via his personal Twitter account, Masi wrote, “CHANCE! Reach finds Ajayi who had made a brilliant over-lapping run. He rolls a cross exactly where you’d want it across the face of goal. Townsend meets it but can’t turn the ball goalwards.”

End the season already

The Baggies may have had some chances to break the deadlock, but the players clearly don’t seem to be playing for anything.

Bruce is likely to remain beyond this summer so there is little incentive to prove a point.

Hopefully, the second half is better and the players come out all guns blazing.

The onus is on the manager now to reinvigorate his troops and get a reaction from them in the next 45 minutes.

How this one will turn out is anyone’s guess but the players owe it to the fans to deliver right until the final whistle of the final game of the season.

The board must then back Bruce is in the summer to bring in the players he wants and push for promotion next term.

In other West Brom news, an English club is increasingly confident of beating their rivals to sign a Baggies player this summer.
