David Prutton predicts result of West Brom clash v Reading

West Brom travel to Reading for their final Championship away game of the season, with David Prutton expecting a close affair at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

The Baggies have won just two of their last seven games and have seen their playoff hopes go down the drain under Steve Bruce.

But the boss will be looking to see out the season in a positive way with a win over Reading who just managed to escape relegation, but Sky Sports pundit Prutton is predicting a 1-1 draw.

Reading just about avoided the drop after coming back from 4-1 down against Swansea to draw 4-4, before a 3-0 defeat to Hull in their last game.

This is their final home league game of the season so they will be keen to end their season on a high, and with nothing to play for for either side this game could go one of two ways.

Hard to watch

This will not be a fun game full of entertainment and goals realistically, with both sides more than poor this season.

Andy Carroll won’t be involved for Albion after he was told he would be released at the end of the season, with his fitness being protected for a future move instead.

That will mean all the attackers on the pitch will be relatively out of form and neither set of fans are particularly excited to watch their team play at this point.

Baggies fans can’t wait for the season’s curtain to be drawn and for everyone to be able to move on, but they will still travel and support the team for the final two games.

Now they will be looking to end the season on a high with victory against one of the Championship’s worst sides this season. If not, then the aspirations for the new season won’t be off to a good start.
