West Brom outcast Cedric Kipre subject of enquiry from FC Metz

West Brom defender Cedric Kipre has been the subject of an enquiry by Ligue 1 side FC Metz over a summer transfer, according to Foot Mercato.

The Ivorian is the first name Steve Bruce has put on the surplus to requirements list and the club will listen to any offers that come in for his services.

Norwich City and Rangers are also interested in signing Kipre this summer [Birmingham Live] and the Baggies are keen to recuperate as much of the £1million they spent on the 25-year-old fromWigan in 2020.

Kipre didn’t play a single game after Valerien Ismael was sacked in early February with Bruce not favouring the Ivorian over Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley, Dara O’Shea and Matt Clarke as soon as he took over at The Hawthorns.

He still has two years left on his contract in the Midlands so could be allowed to leave on loan for a season if no permanent move can be arranged.

Roll up

It is almost becoming an auction here at The Hawthorns as Albion look to sell their assets to the highest bidder.

This particular transfer race might not be that outstanding though with Kipre unable to even force a substitute appearance for the club since Bruce came in and academy star Caleb Taylor progressing above him in the pecking order.

The Canaries are coming down to our level next season so it could be a dangerous move to allow him to join a divisional rival so maybe they will try to move him away from the Championship to Metz or Rangers instead.

The latter may not keep their interest going that long though with their fantastic European adventure this season which would leave just the French side in the hunt.

They too could miss out though if they are relegated from the top division this season so we wouldn’t expect to see any official moves happening anytime soon.

In other West Brom news, another 25-year-old could have his future at the Albion on the edge of a cliff after news earlier this week.
