West Brom offer new deals to five academy players
West Brom have reportedly offered new contracts to five of their academy players at the end of the 2021/22 Championship season.
According to Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi, the Baggies have also handed a new deal to attacker Reyes Cleary.
Ted Cann, Josh Shaw, Samuel Okoka and Reece Hall are the other youngsters that the hierarchy is keen on retaining.
Cleary has been linked with a move away from Hawthorns and it remains to see how this saga transpires.
Given the fact that the ‘Perfect’ attacker has not yet signed a new deal suggests that he could very well be on his way out.
As for the others, they’ve clearly done enough to impress the decision makers and we’re waiting to see how their careers pan out.
Steve Bruce will certainly be looking at a few of them during pre season and the Baggies might have some breakthrough players in the 2022/23 campaign.
There needs to be serious investment in the first team as well as the club have become a laughing stock over the last few years.
If they fail to get promoted next season, there is a fear that they may be rooted to the Championship for many years to come.
