Steve Bruce close to ticking off major West Brom deal for Jed Wallace signing - report

West Brom are now hopeful of sealing a major new transfer to sign Jed Wallace this summer, according to Football League World on Tuesday [24 May].

The online source report on their website that Steve Bruce is close to ticking off a deal for the free agent, who has recently left Millwall as his contract expired.

The Baggies are said to be confident of sealing an agreement for the transfer to be confirmed later in the summer.

This is a deal that has been mooted for months now.

Wallace has been strongly linked with the likes of Besiktas, but it looks as though The Albion could now be favourites to get this over the line.

Bruce is set for his first full summer window in charge of the club, and will get the chance to mould his squad ahead of a big push for promotion to the Premier League.

Get it done.

It looks as though the Baggies are making their moves very early this summer.

This is smart business, and bringing in free agents could be a common theme during this window, with so many big names available for those at the top of the Championship.

The likes of John Swift, Darragh Lenihan and Joe Rothwell have all been mentioned as possible targets, and all of these names have personal experience of success in the Championship.

Bringing them together, as well as Wallace, could be brilliant business and it could also open the door to some Premier League loanees given no transfer money will be spent, only wages.

Bruce is smart in the market and he knows how to get into the Premier League, let’s hope that he can add the Albion onto his CV next season with success at The Hawthorns.

This is one to keep a very close eye on in the coming weeks.
