West Brom are keen on in-demand Derby captain Tom Lawrence

West Brom are keen on out-of-contract Derby County captain Tom Lawrence according to TEAMtalk.

The 28-year-old is set to leave the Rams after five years and 185 games for Wayne Rooney’s side.

As reported by TEAMtalk on Friday [27 May] the Welshmen is of interest to the Baggies as well as a host of other clubs.

Leeds, Watford, Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Bournemouth. and Fulham are all reportedly interested.

If Steve Bruce can entice Lawrence to the Baggies then it will be a huge coup.

Considering some of the clubs that are interested in the Derby man, a move to The Hawthorns seems very unlikely.

The Premier League clubs mentioned will be able to offer Lawrence a far better wage package.

However, at 28, the Welshmen will want to be playing first-team football and whether he can do that in the Premier League will remain to be seen.

He would certainly be at the heart of Bruce’s West Brom side with the Baggies desperate for some creative flair to ease their goalscoring woes.

It is clear that Bruce is testing the free agent market with Jed Wallace rumoured to be on his radar.

With Wallace and Lawrence occupying very similar positions, it would be a huge surprise to see them both signed.

Regardless, it is promising that Bruce is targeting players of their calibre

In other West Brom news, a move for Sam Johnstone is now looking “unlikely” for two Premier League sides, narrowing his future prospects considerably.
