West Brom star Daryl Dike stunned by major Leeds United transfer for Brenden Aaronson

West Brom star Daryl Dike was left blown away as Leeds United confirmed the signing of Brenden Aaronson on Thursday evening from RB Salzburg.

The playmaker became the latest American international to come to England looking to make a big name for themselves, just as Dike did a couple of years ago at Barnsley.

Dike will be hoping to catch the headlines next season at The Hawthorns after his first season was cut terribly short by injury after arriving in January.

Taking to his personal Instagram account after the news broke on Thursday evening [26 May], Dike reposted the announcement and made one of his own.

“Let’s go,” he wrote in jubilation.

Big money.

This is just a taste of what could happen to us should we get back into the Premier League.

Promoted at the same time as us three seasons ago, Leeds are now preparing for their third year in the top flight, as we were unfortunately relegated at the first hurdle.

Bringing in that Premier League revenue of over £100million for three consecutive seasons is huge, and the Baggies are crying out for that type of investment right now.

Dike was our last big-money signing, but it was nowhere near the almost £30million spent by Leeds to take Aaronson to Elland Road.

That has to be our motivation, but also a lesson.

We didn’t spend enough money when promoted to the Premier League last time, and if it happens next season, we have to open the chequebook much more.

Let’s go is a message the Baggies squad will be wanting, with promotion the only thing needed next season.
