Sam Field doesn't rule out return to West Brom in the future

Sam Field has admitted that he wouldn’t rule out a return to West Brom in the future.

The 24-year-old midfielder joined Queens Park Rangers permanently last summer after ending a long-term association with the club.

While he feels the move was the “perfect timing” in his career, he has also suggested that he would welcome a return to the Hawthorns if any opportunity arises.

“I enjoyed every moment there and I’m very grateful for everything they did for me because it’s got me where I am now,” said Field to Express and Star.

“And you never know. Romaine (Sawyers) probably never thought he would have returned but he did. “If it’s the right club at the right time I won’t say no because I’ve got great memories. But I can’t see it happening any time soon, but I’d never say never. I could be back there one day.

“The mental impact of having the injuries I’d had at Albion had taken it’s toll.

“For both parties it was perfect timing.

“That is no disrespect to Albion. You just know yourself when it’s the right time.”

Unlikely

The midfielder joined the Baggies at the age of seven but left the club last year.

His time at the Hawthorns was blighted with injuries, but many feel that he was wrongly treated.

There is a lingering feeling that he could have been given more opportunities at the club.

However, he is enjoying his time at QPR and has resurrected his career. Last season, he made 29 appearances in the Championship and was impressive at Loftus Road.

At the moment, it looks really difficult for him to make a return to West Brom, although Steve Bruce could be looking to bolster his midfield in the summer.

The former Newcastle boss is keen to bring more attacking flair to the side as the club is likely to undergo a massive rebuilding project.

Field will always be a favourite among the fans, but the chances of him returning to the club any time soon are almost negligible.
