Letting Callum Robinson leave will be a big mistake for West Brom

West Brom have tried to be extremely active in the market signing players to strengthen the squad for the next campaign in the Championship.

However, the Athletic have now reported that the Baggies are surprisingly willing to listen to offers for striker Callum Robinson.

The report stated that the 27-year-old is expected to be down the pecking order under Steve Bruce and is likely to be available for a move this summer.

Robinson, who has a contract with the club till 2025, joined Baggies in the summer of 2020 from Sheffield United on a free transfer.

Bold move

Recent development regarding Robinson must’ve left the West Brom fans scratching their heads because the player was involved in 16 goals in the Championship with a team that was barely creating any chances.

Robinson had an outstanding time on a personal level for West Brom last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists across 43 appearances.

He played 58% of the overall Championship minutes and was involved in 31% of the goals for the club [Transfermarkt].

If Steve Bruce wants to bring his club to the Premier League, he must have players at his disposal who can be decisive in crucial moments.

Robinson has shown in the recently concluded season that he can be pivotal in deciding games. So, letting the Irish international leave the club is a bold move.

It remains to be seen whether the former Newcastle manager considers signing an alternative for the 27-year-old this summer or will he back the available resources to fill the void.
