Writing is on the wall for Hamza Choudhury at Leicester as West Brom eye loan move

The writing is on the wall for Hamza Choudhury as West Brom get set to make a move for the midfielder, according to the Leicester Mercury.

It has been reported by the newspaper in their print edition [20 June. pg.42], that the Leicester City player is all-but-set to spend the final year of his contract away from the King Power.

Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest as the England youth international gets set to pack his bags and move on before the new season starts.

The report reads: “Just six starts in all competitions last season for Choudhury means the writing is on the wall.

“The academy graduate is expected to leave this summer, having twice been close to a switch to Newcastle.

“There are talks of a loan move to West Brom or Middlesbrough in the Championship, so the final year of his City deal may be spent elsewhere.”

Get it done.

It is very clear that Steve Bruce is looking to beef up his midfield options this summer.

The failure of the 2021-22 season in the Championship saw both Bruce and Valerien Ismael have to deal with only Jake Livermore, Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby in that midfield, and it didn’t work.

Now, more creativity has been added in the shape of John Swift already.

If you add Choudhury to that, the middle of the park is instantly beefed up, and there will be someone who can dominate the opposition, as well as consistently dictate play.

That is something that Livermore hasn’t been able to do in recent years, and reinforcements have been needed for all of that time without anything being done about it.

With the writing on the wall for Choudhury, a deal is there to be done, and it is up to the Albion and Ron Gourlay to make sure they get it over the line sooner rather than later.
