Trust in youth

The Baggies have seen some good youth products come through the ranks at The Hawthorns in recent years and it is good to see a youth product picked up from a Premier League club.

Signing a younger player is a low-risk move by the Baggies

Mitchell will be on minimal wages and only needs to be sold on for a minimal fee in order for the club to make a profit on the striker.

It’s a business model that has proven to be very successful over the years and provides clubs with another source of income.

West Brom

It would be good to see Bruce entrust some of the Baggies youth products at times in the Championship campaign this season.

It is clear that promotion is the aim and that Bruce will want to ensure his side is competitive at all times.

However, when a good chance arises, giving youngsters Championship experience can be invaluable for their development in the long run.

In other West Brom news, Albion are also in advanced talks to sign another new player at The Hawthorns this summer.
