West Brom launch £10.6m bid for Sao Paulo ace Gabriel Sara
West Brom have launched a bid of around £10.6million to try and sign Sao Paulo attacking midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to Ge Globo.
The Brazilian media outlet report that along with the Baggies, Norwich City are pushing to get a deal over the line this summer but there is a chance that the 23-year-old doesn’t join until the January transfer window.
This is due to the Brazilian season taking place over the summer and Sara may stay at Sao Paulo until the current campaign ends but a decision on his future is expected to be made known in the coming days.

Due to an ankle injury, however, Sara has not played since April but is expected back to full fitness in August which may see his move to either West Brom or Norwich halted until then.
The Canaries are currently considered favourites having made a very similar approach for the 23-year-old who is very optimistic for a transfer to be arranged as Sao Paulo require the money from sales to help their difficult financial situation.
Out of nowhere
Admit it, this is the last thing you expected to be reading today.
Being in the race to sign a Brazilian attacker who is highly thought of in his homeland is strange enough but to have tabled such a significant bid is truly baffling.
So far in this summer transfer window, we have had to scrape the bottom of the barrel by signing free transfers John Swift and Jed Wallace (who are both excellent) but there was no sign that we had this kind of cash to play with.

Not that we’re complaining if it is.
You will be hard pushed to find a football fan anywhere in the country that wouldn’t get even a little bit excited to hear their team is trying to sign a Brazilian attacker no matter the price involved because they tend to have that X-Factor that no other player does.
If Sara brings some silky samba skills to The Hawthorns, it will be a carnival atmosphere every single game.
In other West Brom news, Albion could listen to loan offers for this attacker who contributed to 17 goals last season with one of his former teams keen.
