Robbie Savage sends message to Steve Bruce ahead of West Brom v Macclesfield FC

Robbie Savage admits that he’s looking forward to seeing Steve Bruce at the West Brom v Macclesfield FC game.

The Baggies are set to take on the Step 5 club on July 12 in a pre-season friendly to gauge their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Savage, who celebrated the first promotion of his career at the reborn Macclesfield FC stated that he’s looking forward to seeing his former manager.

He wrote on Twitter, “Looking forward to seeing my old gaffa , he will be at the game.”

Ready to go

The Baggies still have work to do on the transfer side of things, but that’s left to the people in charge of recruitment and Bruce must now focus on the field of play.

He’s worked with his players last season and a few days of the current pre-season and surely the target will be to secure promotion.

He is a manager who knows how to get the job done and Savage surely admires him a great deal for his achievements over the past decade or two.

We’re hoping to see a rejuvenated Baggies side in the upcoming games, although we’re not going to read too much into games against lower league opponents.

This will be a good time to give the youngsters a go and possibly even promote a few of them for next season as squad depth is a growing concern and there certainly are players in the academy good enough to feature as squad players.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies are set to battle Manchester United to sign an exit-bound Premier League goalkeeper this summer.
