West Brom in 12-way battle to sign Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson

West Brom are involved in a 12-way battle to sign Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson on loan, according to Edinburgh News.

The Baggies are in the market to sign players to strengthen the attacking department ahead of the next campaign.

As per the latest report, they are interested in making a move for the 19-year-old but are facing competition from as many as 11 other clubs including Luton Town, Millwall and Bristol.

The report further stated that Newcastle are yet to make a final assessment of their young midfielder and clubs may have to wait to know whether the player will be allowed to leave on loan or not.

Attacking Outlet

West Brom had a difficult last season where despite having a solid foundation when it comes to the defensive side of things.

The primary reason was not having enough quality in the final third and therefore, them thinking of making a move for someone like Anderson will be an absolute correct move.

The 19-year-old is a wide-attacking player that can take multiple offensive positions. Even though he prefers to play as an attacking midfielder, he can also play as a left-sided player and a central midfield player due to his quality on the ball.

In the 2021-22 season with Bristol, the teenager scored seven goals and provided six assists in 21 appearances.

He averaged 3.5 shots, 2.4 aerial duels, 1.9 key passes, 0.4 crosses and 2.5 long balls per game in League Two. As a result of his performances, he won four man-of-the-match awards and had a rating of 7.64, according to Whoscored.
