Daryl Dike pushing to start for West Brom v Watford despite injury rumours

West Brom striker Daryl Dike is pushing to start in a much-awaited clash against Watford in the Championship, according to Express & Star.

The 22-year-old played just 12 minutes in the side’s season opener against Middleborough on July 30.

However, as per the latest report, the USMNT striker is pushing to start the fixture on Monday evening despite rumours circulating about another injury.

West Brom

Time to shine

West Brom came into this season hoping to not replicate the mistakes of the previous campaign where they finished 10th, largely because of a lack of creativity in the final third as they managed to score just 52 goals in 46 matches.

To address that issue, they signed Dike in the January transfer window earlier this year from Major League Soccer (MLS) side Orlando City SC in a deal worth £7.7 million, but so far he has not been able to showcase the kind of performance that was expected of him.

With West Brom looking to regain promotion this season, it is imperative that they will have their main striker fit and running in the season and therefore, the fans will be expecting better performances from the player.

In other West Brom news, Okay Yokuslu could be fit to play at home to Watford on Monday night but there are knocks for two Albion attackers.
