West Brom: Karlan Grant in last chance saloon v Cardiff City amid striker search
West Brom will welcome Cardiff City to The Hawthorns on Wednesday (17 August) with Karlan Grant facing potentially his last chance saloon.
The 24-year-old has started every Championship game up top for the Baggies so far and has scored twice in those three games but with every goal comes two or three misses that should have been buried.
Daryl Dike’s injury has taken some of the pressure off him in terms of a starting place but that could be piled back on very soon if manager Steve Bruce gets his wish.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Albion are taking steps to try and sign Manchester City starlet Liam Delap on a season-long loan with a proposal already sent to the reigning Premier League champions at The Etihad.
The Athletic also reported that free agent Lewis Grabban is on the radar of West Brom after he was released by Nottingham Forest following their promotion to the top flight.
Both players are at different stages in their careers but would be just as likely to start for Bruce over Grant which will very quickly see the Englishman fall out of favour in the Midlands.
It would be a surprise to see both players brought in at the same time with only one striker position in Bruce’s current system and the need to play youngster Reyes Cleary a little more regularly than previously.

Grant can’t worry about any of that though when Steve Morison’s Bluebirds come to town after a good start to their season because he is the one who is trusted to score the crucial goals right now.
But even though he has scored in two-thirds of the games so far in the league, he should have converted more chances than he has given the amount he is getting from John Swift and Jed Wallace.
In other West Brom news, it’s not just a striker that Bruce is chasing after late in the window as he has made contact with this African international defender.
