Journalist has his say on Steve Bruce’s disastrous time at West Brom after sacking confirmed
Steve Bruce’s time at West Brom has been described as an “unmitigated disaster” by the Deputy Editor of Mirror Sport and Football Alex Richards.
It was finally confirmed on Monday morning that Bruce had been sacked by West Brom, bringing an end to his 249 days at the club.
Richards branded Bruce’s time at Albion as a “disaster” and highlighted the position the club were in and where they have ended up since the former Newcastle boss took over.

“After 249 days, Steve Bruce finally sacked by West Brom,” said Richards via his Twitter page.
“Joined with the club in a playoff place, leaves with them in a relegation spot. Only 7 wins in 30 league matches, just 1 win in 13 this season.
“An unmitigated disaster.”
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, it seems the football gods have rewarded every Albion fan’s prayers overnight with the decision they have been craving, Bruce has finally been sacked.
You should never celebrate the fact a man has lost his job, but this one is hard not to rejoice in, considering the position he has left the club in.
Now is the time for the club to move forward and find a coach who can take the side to the levels they deserve to be at.
Now is the time to change the club’s fortunes around, hopefully, the right coach can be appointed to guide the Baggies out of this unfavourable mess.
It will by no means be an easy job and it’s definitely not one for the faint-hearted but the rewards that could come with it will be enriching for whoever takes it.
Albion needs a new spark and playing philosophy, something the fans can be proud to watch and regain the excitement of old, who will it be?
We’ll have to wait and see.
In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has scolded what he brands as a “rancid, horrible bunch” that have made the Baggies dressing room toxic.
